Youth Pickleball Volunteer Summer Opportunity With
Metro Nashville Public Schools
Promising Scholars Summer Program
HELP US BRING PICKLEBALL TO METRO NASHVILLE STUDENTS THIS SUMMER!
We are proud to partner with Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) again for the 2026 Promising Scholars summer program. We are inviting passionate volunteers to join us in delivering engaging, school-based pickleball programming to students across the city.
Last year, we worked with nine MNPS schools and introduced over 400 children to the game. This year, we hope to be in over a dozen schools.
Volunteers will help support site coaches, guide students through basic drills and games, and help us create a positive, encouraging environment.
Program Details:
Dates: May 28 through June 26, 2026
Locations: Multiple MNPS schools- to be assigned.
Time Commitment: Volunteers can work any number of hours based on their schedule. We aim to have three to four volunteers at each school, with a full-time site manager at each location.
At middle schools, shifts may be around 7 hours, and at high schools, around 4 hours, but hours are flexible to fit your availability. We just need you for a couple of hours as your schedule allows.
Your Role: Assist with on-site instruction, encourage participation, and help build momentum for afterschool programs in the fall
We welcome volunteers of all experience levels—whether you’re a seasoned pickleball player, educator, or someone who just loves working with kids and wants to make a difference.
Desired Qualifications:
Passion for Pickleball: Deep enthusiasm for junior pickleball.
Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to plan and execute events smoothly.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with players, parents, sponsors, and stakeholders.
Community Focus: Dedication to promoting sportsmanship and fostering a vibrant junior pickleball community.
Join us in creating an exciting environment where
young pickleball players can thrive and develop their skills!
Volunteering with the Tennessee Junior Pickleball Association is a rewarding way to support young people through sport, learning, and mentorship. Our volunteers help run practices, assist at tournaments and events, and provide academic support and tutoring—including working directly with Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) students at their schools. By giving your time, you help shape confident, healthy, and engaged students who succeed both on and off the court.
No pickleball experience is required—just a willingness to help and a desire to make a difference. When you volunteer with TJPA, you join a community dedicated to expanding access to pickleball, promoting teamwork and leadership, and opening doors to academic and future success. Sign up today and help us inspire the next generation, one game at a time.
